Our Programs

Individual & Family Advocacy

Advocacy begins with a meeting or phone call for persons and families of any age, to help individuals and families:

  • find services and access to other service providers such as mental health services or to locate emergency funding
  • learn to be a self-advocate

Our Advocates also:

  • seek increased involvement in the community.
    • our advocates may attend meetings as part of Individual Education Planning team for students or Person Center Plan meetings for teens and adults.
  • work with schools and agencies to help young adults transition from school to adult services.
  • support individuals and families applying for or appealing SSI benefits
  • help families to find respite providers
  • locate summer camp programs or
  • find a place for individuals to volunteer in their communities.
