What is a Developmental Disability?
Developmental Disability
: (when applied to an individual who is older than five years)
Is attributable to a mental or physical impairment or a combination of mental and physical impairment which manifests before a person is 22 years of age and is likely to continue indefinitely.
It also results in functional limitation in three or more of the following areas of major life activities:
self-care
receptive/expressive language
learning
mobility
self-direction
capacity for independent living
economic self-sufficiency
