Ellen Stone, Executive Director

Ellen graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Science in Anthropology.  She began working with individuals with disabilities in college when she joined the summer staff at The Fowler Center for Outdoor Learning in Mayville, MI as their horseback riding instructor.  After seeing the positive impact of residential summer camps and respite programs for individuals with disabilities and their families, Ellen pursued a career in residential camping and respite after her graduation from Michigan State.  She eventually became the Camping and Respite Director for Easter Seals Washington at Easter Seals Camp Stand By Me.

Ellen is very excited to join the staff at The Arc Community Advocates and to begin actively working to improve the lives of individuals with I/DD and their families in Kalamazoo through advocacy and community inclusion.
